I began taking piano lessons from Sue in 2016, when I developed an interest in music and required weekly practice of a skill for my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. Now, over six years later, I can say with certainty I have gained much more than the sum of those lessons. Sue’s engagement, patience, and experience in teaching comes together as a peaceful and entertaining environment to learn piano where progress is made so naturally.
This was especially apparent to me when I celebrated with Sue passing my Trinity Grade 5 piano exam with Merit in November 2021. The support and dedication I received from her was undoubtedly, and continues to be, a key factor of my success. So it was only natural we asked Sue to teach my younger brother as he prepares for his Music GSCE, as she did for me, and pursues a career in music.
Today, we still smile over Sue’s humorous methods of explaining concepts to me, catered to my needs exactly. I’m overjoyed to think that others can access piano playing with Sue as their guide, and likewise build a relationship of encouragement and shared passion for this art.
